Environmental Clearance Process (after 14th September, 2006) The Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF), Government of India, notified the new Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) legislation SO 1533 dated 14th September 2006. In the new EIA notification, the process of screening and scoping has been made mandatory. The Schedule in the new EIA Notification provides the List of Projects or Activities requiring prior Environmental Clearance.
